Oyetola and Adeleke

Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, has cleared the air over the statement credited to its candidate in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state, senator Ademola Adeleke on the forthcoming supreme court judgment.

It was reported in the media that Adeleke while addressing party members declared that he would become the governor of the state on Friday, July 5.

Also that the Supreme Court judgment slated for July 5 in the appeal filed against the Court of Appeal’s ruling that declared incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola would be in his (Adeleke)’s favour.

However in a statement by ,Ayo Fadaka, Zonal Publicity Secretary of PDP in the South West, Adeleke’s statement was twisted by APC agents .

Fadaka said “The National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South West, Dr Eddy Olafeso has directed that we make the under listed clarifications forthwith;

That we take due cognisance of the statement credited to Senator Ademola Adeleke, our candidate in the Osun Gubernatorial election to the effect that he will be Governor by the verdict of the Supreme Court and thus wants to effect clarifications by putting his comments in proper perspectives.

Speaking in meeting with Party leaders, Senator Ademola Adeleke expressed his confidence in the capability of the Supreme Court to ensure that justice will be done in the matter of Osun Gubernatorial election and thus hopeful that the desires of the Party will be met.

He therefore asked the people not to be scared of rumors making the rounds that a particular national leader of APC and two other Governors of the Party are pilling undue pressure on the Court.

That he has absolute respect, trust and confidence in the integrity of the Court as the last hope of the common man to set standards and adjudicate fairly on issues.

He therefore called for prayers so that the verdict of the Supreme Court will be favorable.

We are aware that media agents of APC have twisted his statements to achieve a sinister motive and as such condemn this act as ungentlemanly and dastardly.

We thus issue this statement to correct the impression that Senator Adeleke is privy to any development. ” Fadaka said.
