Oba Julius Aluko
A traditional ruler, The Onimariwo of Mariwo in Ifedore Local government of Ondo state ,Oba Julius Aluko has raised alarm over increasing rate of crimes in the community by hoodlums.
In an interview with ROVING REPORTERS, Oba Aluko explained that for many years ,the community had turned to hide out of armed robbers and kidnappers and ritualists .
The monarch also recounted that his palace had been attacked by suspected armed robberies as lives and property were no longer protected.
Oba Aluko said “ it has got to an extent that no single person is safe again in the community.
Apart from the farm settlers chocking us, the community is now under siege of criminals.
There had been cases of armed robberies ,kidnapping and killing of those traveling along akure– Ilesa expressway.
It was God who saved me because they came to my palace and carted away my property and police has not been proactive enough to reduce crime rates in Mariwo community.
In fact it is like the police deliberately abandoned my community to give ample room for criminals to operate. ” The monarch said.
Oba Aluko however called on the state government and commissioner of police to beam security searchlight on Mariwo Community so as to protect lives and property of its residents .
