Ekiti State government has commenced investigation into various allegations levelled against some Principals and head teachers of some public primary and secondary schools.
The principals and head teachers were specifically alleged of illegal collection of fees from their students.
The commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Foluso Daramola announced this to newsmen in Ado Ekiti .
Parents in ekiti state have alleged some of the school principals of illegally collecting outrageous fees from them.
Reacting,Mr Daramola who noted that education was free in public schools across the state, submitted that any principal or head teacher found guilty would be dealt with.
He announced that directors from the ministry of education had been sent to affected schools to find out from pupils and students, who were the victims of such illegal fees.
The commissioner said government had set aside certain amount of money to be disbursed to public schools to enable them attend to their needs.
Mr Daramola also maintained that works would soon commence in the planned renovation of dilapidated structures in public schools across the state.
