It is observed that statements have continued to roll in from concerned Nigerians while condolences have not stopped at the residence of Chief Reuben Fasoranti.

However this is the third day, and the security agencies especially the police have not updated the public on how far they have gone in finding those behind the gruesome killing of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere leader, chief Reuben Fasoranti on Friday , July 12 ,2019.

It is expected that the police will as a matter of National interest come up with up-to-date findings and the achievements made so far in the last three days to bring those involved to justice.

The longer it takes the police to find those behind the killing of the 58years old woman , the more difficult and complicated it will be to “Fish them out ” According to the Inspector General of police,Muhammed Adamu who also stated that special forces have been sent to Ondo state for manhunt operation aimed at arresting those behind the killing of Mrs Olakunrin.

The IGP noted that the Ondo State Police Command, backed by Special Forces and seasoned investigators from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU) deployed from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on his directives, have already commenced a massive manhunt for the killers with a view to tracking, arresting and bringing them to justice.

Roving Reporters is reminding Nigerians that In June 22, 2015 , when a former vice chancellor of FUTA, Professor Albert Ilemobade was killed by his own domestic staff,
Daniel Itah Effiong and Bamitale Olayemi, it took the Ondo state police command up to a week before it was clear that the 79years old man was not kidnapped as stated by the then commissioner of police ,Issac Eke.

The suspects were able to fool the entire police command because it lacked capacity to identify simple tactics used by mere domestic staff who killed the old man and hid him within the premises while the police were busy searching the whole state for days.

Though, the suspects were arrested and prosecuted, many killings have occurred in the country that killers are yet to be identified not to talk of arresting them as they are still within the society .

One will imagine how the police were able to identify that those who killed Mrs Olakunrin were armed robbers and not Fulani herdsmen as claimed by many, yet no armed robbers have been arrested after three days.

Nigerians are looking forward to seeing those involved in the killing arrested.

It should however be stated that Mrs Olakunrin’s death should not be politicised but be seen as an incident that brings to question the capacity of Nation’s security apparatus in making all Nigerians safe and protected.

Mrs Funke Olakunrin’s killers should be brought to book with concerted efforts by all security agencies and should not be longer than necessary.
