Following concerns raised over delay in the conduct of JSS 3 and SSS 2 exams in public secondary schools in Ondo state ,governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has allayed the fears of parents and stakeholders over the development.
ROVING REPORTERS had on Tuesday reported that parents and other stakeholders expressed worries over late release of time tables for both exams, a situation that has never occurred in the sector.
It was also reported that the time tables that were later released on Monday indicated that the two exams would commence on Thursday ,July 18th ,2019.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, Akeredolu through his commissioner for information and Orientation,Donald Ojogo said the delayed exams would now hold on Wednesday,July 17th.
The statement reads “The attention of the Ondo State Government has been drawn to a report in a section of the social media wherein allusion is made to tension generated by a reported delay in the conduct of the JSS 3 and SS 2 exams in the State.
The genuine concerns expressed by parents are noted and cannot be said to be misplaced.
However, the warped report is utterly mlsleading and smarks of ignorance of workings of Government.
It is particularly disheartening that stringent administrative measures being put in place to engender and instill quality education are being misconstrued and warped to incite the public.
For the avoidance of doubt, both examinations will hold tomorrow, Wednesday July 16, 2019.
It should be particularly made clear that the premium focus placed on the education sector by the government of ARAKUNRIN OLUWAROTIMI AKEREDOLU, SAN remains sacrosanct and unwavering.
The Government wishes all prospective candidates the best of luck in their respective examinations.
